Job Description

-Manage the day-to-day technical operations of cloud-based linux production servers, networks and storage platforms
-Support Engineering IT environment consisting of linux servers, windows desktops, network segments
-Participate in off-hours shift and on-call pager rotation to support our customers during non business hours.

Experience
-Wide range of experience preferred, Ability to contribute in many areas of the company
-Startup Experience, understand the contraints and demands of startup resources and "one-man band" skillset
-Operational experience in an ISP datacenter environment
-Demonstrated direct responsibility for network and system security best practices.
-Prior experience with infrastructure monitoring tools (Nagios preferred).
-Practical experience developing system deployment and network configuration using automated tools such as Puppet
-Prior experience implementing and managing Linux Servers, Switches, VPN Solutions, Firewalls, Load Balancers, VoIP
-7-10 years experience

Technical Skills
• Scripting Languages - python, ruby
• Linux - Fedora/Redhat preferred
• LAMP Stack

Behavioral and Interpersonal Skills:
• Understanding of 24x7 Operations and supporting remote users with demanding requirements.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. High energy with a "Get it done" attitude
• Effectively communicate and report on technical status of systems; current and in process.
• Mentor junior technical staff and provide guidance to grow the skill sets of those on that network team.
• Work effectively with non-technical personnel to integrate technology with strategic business goals and requirements.

Pluses
• Jabber/IM/XMPP Server experience
• VoIP and QoS network management
• Cluster Performance Testing
• LDAP Server
• Java/Javascript
• SQA experience
• Backend web development, database design
