Brad Kayton - CEO
Brad Kayton is the CEO of North End Technologies. Mr. Kayton has over twenty years of experience in successful new product category creation in audio-visual communications and networked products. Mr. Kayton is credited with the introduction of the residential gateway (RGW), the digital media adapter (DMA), the set-top video conferencing form factor, home control services for broadband carriers, and hospital-compliant telemedical video conferencing. Prior to joining North End, Mr. Kayton was Chief Operating Officer of 4Home, Inc., which has emerged as the leader in home control services, the next set of for-fee broadband services after voice-video-data; he had been CEO and co-founder of the predecessor company, Nearmedia, prior to its acquisition in 2007 by 4Home. Prior to that, Mr. Kayton was the Senior VP of Marketing & Business Development for PRISMIQ, the inventor of the digital media adapter product category, and winner of 16 Editor Choice and seven major “consumer product of the year” awards in its first year on the market; Mr. Kayton joined PRISMIQ through their acquisition of Paros Software, a software firm he co-founded and served as CEO.
In the late 90s, he co-founded and was VP of Marketing & Online Services at 2Wire, a pioneer and current leader in broadband residential gateways (over 27M units sold) and home networking peripherals. Mr. Kayton was also the Director of Video Products for Polycom where he defined, managed, and launched worldwide what quickly became the market share leading ViewStation product line (over $3B in total sales). In the early 90s Mr. Kayton spent five years at VTEL where he co-invented the world’s first hospital-compliant two-way video telemedicine product which was a market leader and won many accolades in its day. Mr. Kayton began his career as a software programmer, received an MBA and a MA in communication technologies from the University of Texas in Austin, and a BA from the University of Virginia where he was an Echols Scholar.
